Black Frontiers
Black Frontiers-A History of African American Heroes in the Old West
Lillian Schlissel
While visiting the Hoover Dam last week, we purchased this book to add to our children's library. Black Frontiers shares the history of The Exodusters, Black Homesteaders, Mountain Men, Trappers, Guides, Cowboys, Black Indians, Nat Love, Ned Huddleston, and many more.

Born-Again Vintage

New Yorker Bridgett Artise, vintage designer, has been pinching herself over the past few weeks. She cannot believe that all of the hard work and tears that she has put out over the years is finally paying off. Bridgett Artise's book Born-Again Vinatage drops this December 9th!
Over the years I have had the pleasure of purchasing some of Bridgett's originals, and having some sentimental items "born-again".

Feminine Baubles
My recent Bauble purchases:
I am a big "fan" of Californian designer Myisha Croom-Turner's jewelry. I love the bohemian styles, textures, and contrast of the colors.
Brace Yourself Boutique.

I have been admiring Floridian designer Gaetana T. Parris' creations for awhile now. I recently purchased from her bauble haven on Etsy. As soon as I saw this bracelet, I knew that my mother would love it for her 61st birthday!

My RADIUS Experience
About a month ago I posted about a giveaway over at Quiskaeya. Guess what? I was the winner!! I was contacted by Ana asking what two products would I like to receive. Hmmm, choices, I like choices.....
Scuba, in its bold black and green color. Whenever I have the opportunity to purchase certain items in African or Caribbean colors, I always go for it. ;O) As noted on the Radius' webpage, one of Scuba's features is a wide oval head (they weren't kidding). On my second use of the Scuba, I could really appreciate the wide oval head, I could actually feel that I was not holding the handle so tightly and that pressure was being distributed evenly in my mouth. Bright idea Radius! If you haven't gotten a pat on the back lately, here is one from me... pat pat. Another plus with the Scuba is that it is likely to last 3 times longer than those other toothbrushes.
Cranberry Floss. I have all of my teeth and they all sit together. So imagine me trying to floss with Floss that does not get in between my teeth easily. It is MURDER! Radius' floss is spun in natural beeswax for easy sliding. And it does! I also love the idea of having natural cranberry essence on the floss. The cranberry essence is deposited onto my gums to help break up plague. Funny note: I forgot that the cranberry essence was unsweetened... "Why is my mouth so bitter?!" Once it clicked I was ok.
So I love my Radius prize! I also enjoyed the customer service that Tamu (Radius rep.) showed me! I owe it all to Ana for getting me hooked to Radius. Oh yeah, I am hooked, because they are in my special bookmark folder and I connected with them on Facebook!
Radius is offering a special discount until the end of October! Purchase anything and receive 15% off! Use code BLG3 15%! Hurry offer ends 10/31/08!
