Science Friday: Anatomy

The Science Book of the Senses, Neil Ardley

Inside the ear:
How do you hear sounds? By making a model of an ear, you will see how your ears change sounds into signals that are sent to your brain. Your brain translates these signals into the sounds you hear.

Using low tones, screams, and a whistle.

Lost sounds:
Why do you have two ears, one on each side of your head? Find out by covering one ear and trying to tell exactly where a sound is coming from.

I do enjoy science, especially anatomy - that was my unit of choice when I taught fourth grade. The way the body works and how it is put together is fascinating!
